RESTORE New York Communities Initiative Municipal Grant Application

Body

WHEREAS, the Town of Cheektowaga intends to submit an application to Empire State Development Corporation (ESD), for a RESTORE New York Communities Initiative Municipal Grant on or about December 15, 2017, AND

WHEREAS, the Town of Cheektowaga is required to prepare and submit an application that may be considered for financial assistance for revitalization of Cheektowaga’s urban center through the elimination of blight and redevelopment of blighted structures and will include the administration and program delivery of such, AND

WHEREAS, the goal of this application is to selectively demolish and rehabilitate 3600 Harlem Road and induce commercial investment, improve the local housing stock, and increase the tax base, AND

WHEREAS, the Town is required to hold a public hearing to afford an opportunity for discussion and comment on the proposed application and to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies and other interested parties on the needs of the jurisdiction for the ESD application, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held on November 28, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at Cheektowaga Town Hall, 3301 Broadway at Union Road, Cheektowaga, NY 14227 for the above stated purpose, and BE IT

RESOLVED, that all monies for the submission of the application and associated fees shall be paid for by the Town from budget line no. 0100.0100.0380, and BE IT

RESOLVED, that the Developer of the property, 3600 Harlem Road, LLC. shall be responsible for the full reimbursement of all moneys and associated fees for the submission of the application to the Town, and BE IT FURTHER

FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public notice of such public hearing shall be published in the Buffalo News for three consecutive days and in the Cheektowaga Bee.

A Public Hearing will be held in the Town Council Chambers, Cheektowaga Town Hall, 3301 Broadway on November 28, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. to afford an opportunity for discussion and comment on the proposed application and to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies and other interested parties on the needs of the jurisdiction for the ESD application.  Comments on the RESTORE New York Program or the proposed project will be received at this time.

 

Upon prior request, an interpreter will be made available at the hearing to sign for the hearing impaired.  Please contact the Cheektowaga Community Development Office (716-897-7200) seven (7) days prior to the hearing if you need such special arrangements or have language issues which need to be addressed.  The hearing location is accessible to the physically disabled.  Written comments may be submitted to the Town of Cheektowaga Office of Community Development, 275 Alexander Avenue, Cheektowaga, New York, 14211.
