Authorize Purchase of Computer Equipment

WHEREAS, the Cheektowaga Information Technology Department, in keeping in line with best practices, replaces end-of-life equipment with new models and is in need of purchasing several computers and related equipment, AND


WHEREAS, the purchase of new computers will allow departments to keep up with new technology, keeping the cost of repairs and maintenance down, maintaining warranties, and providing continuity of business and operations, AND


WHEREAS, CDW Government, Inc. 203 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Vernon Hills, IL 60061 - Federal ID 36-4230110, has provided quotations for these updated computers and related equipment, based on New York State OGS pricing, Contract # PT63224, including three year warranties, AND


WHEREAS, there are several departments in which the current computer equipment has reached end-of-life, which include:

Engineering Department

Town Clerk’s Office

Main Pump Station

Technology Department

Various Users - PD


                THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board hereby authorizes the Information Technology Department to purchase computers, together with ancillary equipment under state contract for a total not to exceed $30,000, AND BE IT FURTHER,


                RESOLVED, that the funding for said equipment shall be appropriated from budget line item 0100-1680-2204.
